Top 10 Highlights for 2025

2025 was an extraordinary year for Health Builders! Together with our partners working across Rwanda, we made significant improvements to the quality of health care in the country. To celebrate, we’re counting down our top 10 achievements of the year.

#10: World Diabetes Day

On November 14, we participated in the global World Diabetes Day campaign by raising awareness on gaps in diabetes care. We renew our commitment to raise awareness, promote healthy lifestyles, and advocate for stronger health systems.

#9: Hands-On Training

Working with Rwanda Biomedical Center, we provided training for doctors and nurses on techniques for preventing, diagnosing, and treating heart-related diseases.

#8: Data-driven Decisions

At Rambura Health Center, a new “situation room” allows leaders to enhance the quality of patient care and improve operational efficiency using data.

#7: eBuzima

Nurses were trained on Rwanda’s eBuzima digital tools to improve care for NCDs (non-communicable diseases) and CVDs (cardiovascular diseases) across three districts.

#6: Community Health Programme

In partnership with Novartis, the Community Health Programme showed early impact in detecting hidden heart disease.

#5: Planning and Budgeting Workshops

In Rulindo, planning and budgeting workshops at the health center strengthened local management.

#4: New Team Members

Three new full-time staff members joined the Health Builders team, and two interns became full-time employees.

#3: Annual Performance Assessments

Our annual performance assessment tracked our progress and helped to improve service delivery.

#2: Board Member Visits

Board members visited project sites, engaging with health workers and communities.

#1: CARDIO4Rwanda

CARDIO4Rwanda launched in Rwamagana, Kicukiro, and Bugesera with strong district partnerships.
