Staff Story: Ingabire Claudine's Journey
A testimony to Mwulire’s transformation is Ingabire Claudine, who began her journey as a nurse at Ntunga Health Post. In the early days, Ingabire worked tirelessly alongside her colleagues, navigating the challenges of limited staff and scarce medical equipment. Despite these obstacles, Ingabire remained committed to serving her community, knowing that each patient visit brought hope for a healthier future.
The turning point came in May 2023, when Ntunga Health Post transitioned into Mwulire Health Center, thanks to collaborative efforts with the Rwandan government and Health Builders. Ingabire describes the change as "a new dawn for the community," with the introduction of comprehensive services like maternal health, family planning, non-communicable disease (NCD) management, and even mental health care. For the first time, expectant mothers could safely deliver at the center, children could be vaccinated on time, and chronic conditions were managed close to home. The health center's 24/7 operations not only saved lives but also restored trust in local healthcare.
Today, Ingabire takes pride in working at a facility that is fully-equipped, well-staffed, and capable of addressing the community's diverse health needs. She has witnessed firsthand the reduction in maternal and child mortality, the surge in health-seeking behavior, and the overall improvement in community health outcomes.
Ingabire believes that the transformation of Mwulire Health Center has not only impacted individual lives but has also strengthened the community's resilience. Her journey from working at a modest health post to a thriving health center symbolizes progress, hope, and the power of collaborative healthcare interventions.
