Ronald is an experienced in-house counsel, transaction legal advisor and an expert in corporate governance with over 10 years of experience. Having attained an LLM from the University of Cape Town, he started his career in 2006 at a boutique commercial law firm as an Associate. During that time, he led and advised on various mergers and acquisitions, facilitated different entities with regulatory approvals and undertook legal due diligences for potential investors. In 2011 through to 2019, Ronald has been working for two of the major banks – Development Bank of Rwanda and BPR Atlas Mara in Rwanda in the capacity of both Head of legal and Company secretary. His other duties have entailed drafting lending and other agreements as they pertain to the Banks operations as well as case management in coordination with external counsels, general regulatory compliance and wide ranging legal advisory services across operations in the Banks as well as overseeing corporate governance and board secretarial matters. Ronald is passionate about his home country Rwanda and the strides it is making in social economic development.
