Working as a communications and media strategist, Amber has 15 years’ experience driving awareness and bottom line growth for social justice and mission-driven companies. She has served as Director of Communications and Public Relations for large nonprofit organizations and held positions in media and marketing at the Academy of American Poets, Audre Lorde Project, Center Against Domestic Violence, The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Center of New York City, and the Women’s League for Peace and Freedom.

Previously working as an editor in publishing, Amber is passionate about storytelling and articulating a unique vision to diverse audiences. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Columbia University, a Master of Arts in Human Rights from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies and Anthropology from Purchase College, State University of New York, where she currently works as a Lecturer of creative writing. She resides in Brooklyn, New York where she enjoys cooking, reading, volunteering, and yoga.
