Working as a communications and media strategist, Amber has 15 years’ experience driving awareness, engagement, and bottom line growth for social justice and mission-driven organizations. She has served as Director of Communications and Public Relations for the United States’ largest domestic violence shelter provider as well as Communications Director for New York State’s oldest provider of domestic violence services. She has held various positions in marketing communications and development at the Academy of American Poets, Audre Lorde Project, The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Center of New York City, and the Women’s League for Peace and Freedom. Previously working as an editor in publishing, Amber possesses a deep passion for storytelling and for articulating an organization's unique vision to stakeholders. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Columbia University, a Master of Arts in Human Rights from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies and Anthropology from Purchase College, State University of New York, where she currently serves as a visiting lecturer in writing.
