Health Builders is Rwandan-led, with staff uniquely skilled in both health and enterprise.
Our team includes staff members with diverse professional expertise, including clinical medicine, public health, finance and accounting, and information technology. We work directly with health centers, where over 85% of all medical consultations in Rwanda take place, to reach the most in need, bringing a business management approach to improve health systems. Our diverse team possesses solid relationships at the district and community levels. Our district-based advisors work day-in and day-out with district officials, hospitals, health centers, and community health workers. We draw from that expertise to build top-notch health systems that are effective from all perspectives, especially the patients’.
Bertin has over fifteen years of work experience in various Public Health Management domains throughout Rwanda. Previously Bertin served as an Assistant Lecturer in the University of Rwanda, Director of Health in Karongi District and Behavior Change Communication Officer at Family Health International Rwanda. He graduated in 1999 with bachelor honors in Public Health. Why do you love working with Health Builders? The project has a clear vision and mission, which is to improve health management systems to provide high quality health care delivery. In addition to this, Health Builders has a strong team spirit where all staff feel like they are part of a family.
Immaculate hails from Kigali and completed her undergraduate studies in Nursing Sciences at the Kigali Health Institute on a full scholarship awarded to her from the Generation Rwanda Organization. She then worked as a school nurse at the Rwanda Turkish International School and subsequently at Kinihira Hospital as Head Nurse of Surgery and Assistant Chief Nurse. After, Immaculate was awarded a fellowship through the Global Health Corps with Health Builders, where she now works as a Programs Officer. Philippe worked for reputable international companies such as SKYNET Worldwide Express, Kigali Serena Hotel and Kigali Intercontinental Hotel. Before joining Health Builders, Philippe worked at ACCESS PROJECT as District Health Advisor (DHA). He holds MBA in Project Management from Mount Kenya University. In the free time, he enjoys traveling with the family, playing basketball and reading newspapers. Why do you like working for Health Builders? Working with Health Builders, it is an added value to my professional and personal development. It is good working with people that care about their organization and doing a great job.
Didier has more than 10 years experience in Information Technology, Data Management and Monitoring and Evaluation. Previously, Didier worked for two years in one of the leading insurance companies in Rwanda SORAS in the Medical Department as a system analyst. Prior to joining Health Builders he worked for the Access Project, the Colombia University project where he supported health centers, districts and the local community in using different technologies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Applied in Management from the National University of Rwanda. Why do you like working for Health Builders? Josias has more than 10 years’ experience in Rwandan Health system with 7 years as Head of Health Center. Before joining Health Builders Josias was the Head of Ntaganzwa Health Center in Muhororo District Hospital, Ngororero District, I Graduated in 2008 with Bachelor degree in General nursing. Why I love working with Health Builders. As Head of health center I was attracted by the vision and mission of Health Builders, and since I started working with Health Builders, I have been able to discover how well they are organized and how they work as a team, I felt as I am in family, for that I love more works with Health Builders.
Sammy is originally from Kigali and completed his studies in Tourism. With a total of 29 years of experience as a driver, Sammy previously worked as the Lead Driver for The Global Fund for 2 years. Afterwards, he worked as the Lead Driver for The Access Project for 9 years. Sammy is currently working as the Drivers Team Leader for Health Builders and is responsible for transporting staff to both local and remote locations around Rwanda. Why do you like working for Health Builders? “I like my job and I do it with professionalism each day. My job at Health Builders has allowed me to get a loan from the bank to pay the school fees of my children.”
