Health Builders' approach is unique.
Through partnerships with local and national governments, Health Builders focuses on the core issues that most fundamentally challenge health care delivery. Together with our partners, we apply interventions across three focus areas at the health center level: management, infrastructure, and technology, enhancing primary care services for over 2 million people across Rwanda.
Rather than pour resources into vertical, one-off solutions that address specific diseases, we tackle problems from their roots, focusing on the core drivers that determine health and illness.
In collaboration with local governments, we launch our interventions at the health center level, because that's where real health care takes place.
Our hub and spoke model allows us to reach more health centers with less staff. With this model, Health Builders' field teams work as locally-based consultants and coaches for health center staff across Rwanda. Meanwhile, they receive support and resources from our team of highly trained specialists in the capital.
That all people have access to high quality health care, allowing them to live dignified, healthy, and prosperous lives.
Health Builders strengthens management of health systems and builds health care infrastructure.
Individual dignity, compassion and respect for everyone’s basic human right to health
A commitment to community, sustainability through local engagement
Honesty and transparency, partnerships built on mutual trust
A standard of excellence, efficiency with strong leadership
History has taught us that our work saves lives. When health center finances are in order, additional employees are hired and existing staff are paid on time. When pharmacies are well managed, stock-outs become infrequent. When action plans are written and evaluated, health centers evolve. And when health centers have sound management systems, they provide better care.
